DePaolo Middle School announced their Students of the Month for February. DePaolo Middle School announced their Students of the Month for February.

In sixth grade Keira Dubitsky, Sami Millerick, and Julia Korp were selected by their teams.

Keira is the daughter of Richard Dubitsky and Jillian Connelly and received the Presidential Award in fifth grade. She volunteered at Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Apple Harvest Festival and is a Calendar House volunteer. Keira is in orchestra and is involved in gymnastics and dance.

Sami is the daughter of Lisa and Dave Millerick and is an honor roll student. She is a part of the Leadership Program and the Young Authors and volunteers for the Mill Foundation. Sami is involved in competitive dance and is on the North Ridge golf team.

Julia is the daughter of Jillian and Eric Korp and received the Presidential Award in fifth grade. She is involved in the Leadership Program and volunteered at Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Apple Harvest Festival. Julia plays on the school basketball team and plays basketball, softball, and powder puff football for the town.

In seventh grade Jaden Vuong, James Frechette, and Sadie Garfinkel were selected by their teams.

Jaden is the son of Robyn and Rich Altomari and was recognized at a Principal’s Breakfast as a sixth grader. He assisted by ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Walmart in December and volunteered at Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Apple Harvest Festival. Jaden was on the school soccer team, is a peer advocate, and is part of the Leadership Program.

James is the son of James and Lakshmi Frechette and has consistently earned high honors. He has participated in the Special Olympics Carting Challenge at Lime Rock and is part of the Builder’s Club. James plays ice hockey for Central Connecticut Youth Hockey and plays baseball for the town.

Sadie is the daughter of Donna and Ken Garfinkel and has consistently earned high honors. She is part of the Leadership Program, newspaper club, and the interior design club. Sadie assisted by ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Walmart in December and volunteered at Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Apple Harvest Festival.

In eighth grade Richard DelVecchia, Kallie Candelaria, and Jonathan Cocchiola were selected by their teams.

Rich is the son of Richard and Kelliann DelVecchia and was recognized at a Principal’s Breakfast for Academic Achievement and Citizenship. He is a part of the Leadership Program, drama club, and bowling club. Rich has studied karate for seven years and has played basketball for the town for the last three years.

Kallie is the daughter of Armando and Kimberly Candelaria and is an honor roll student. She helps out at the Summer Discovery in Meriden and is part of the Leadership Program. Kallie is on the DePaolo basketball team and the eighth grade travel basketball team.

Jonathan is the son of Brian and Katherine Cocchiola and was recognized in sixth and eighth grade at a Principal’s Breakfast. He is in the Leadership Program, ran on the school cross country team, and volunteered at Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Apple Harvest Festival. Jonathan studies Christian development every Tuesday.

In Unified Arts, Allie Baldwin, Payton Turnquist, and Garrett Brown were selected.

Allie is the daughter of Kevin and Dana Baldwin and is an honor roll student. She is a Girl Scout, part of the Leadership Program, and volunteered at Southington Care. Allie also enjoys playing soccer.

Payton is the daughter of Annette and Bruce Turnquist and is an honor roll student. She is in the Leadership Program and ran on the school cross country team. Payton was also recognized at a Principal’s Breakfast.

Garrett is the son of Dawn and Eric Brown and is an honor roll student. He has participated in the Leadership Program for two years and assisted by ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Walmart in December. Garrett plays football and lacrosse for the town.
